NISH Internship Program
NISH is pleased to announce a summer internship program for college students who are interested in the business side of a not-for-profit organization.

NISH was established in 1974, and is one of two national, nonprofit agencies designated by the Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled (a federal government agency) to support nonprofit agencies (NPAs) participating in the AbilityOne Program which provides employment opportunities for people who are blind or have other severe disabilities by procuring Federal contracts for goods and services.

Headquartered in Vienna, VA., NISH supports a network of more than 2,100 NPAs as well as Federal customers by providing the legislative and regulatory assistance, communications and public relations materials, information technology support, engineering and technical assistance, and extensive professional training needed for successful contract management. NISH has offices in Seattle, WA; San Ramon, CA; Des Plaines, IL; Arlington, TX; and Kennesaw, GA.

Interns can be placed in a variety of departments, including, but not limited to: Business Development, Marketing, Communications, Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Technology as well as other departments which focus on project management, federal contracting, customer service, and general non-profit management. This provides a unique opportunity for interns to practically experience the inner workings of the organization.

INTERNSHIP DATES: May 10, 2010 – September 3, 2010

Internship Compensation:
Interns will receive hourly pay commensurate with experience.

Internship Eligibility:
Junior and Senior level students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a part of an undergraduate degree program. Graduate level students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
